Points of interest (POI) import: This enables the user to customise individual POIs or create their own POI databases, the user can also download other POI databases such as speed cameras.
Nearest POI: The iCN510 has tens of thousands of pre-installed POI including petrol stations, shops, cinemas, camping sites, hotels, and historical sites. For example, if a user is low on petrol and driving through an unknown area, the iCN510 can display the nearest petrol station and distance to arrival.
Active My POI: Users who have customised their own POIs can set an alert alarm when approaching within a certain radius, giving the driver plenty of warning.
Journey planner: Users can now navigate from A to B via C, D and E with the new trip planner. Up to 12 stops can be programmed.
Latest and greatest 2005 map data: Courtesy of TeleAtlas, this richer road network data includes the M6 toll road and London congestion zones.
Latest GPS (global positioning systems) technology: The iCN510 incorporates the cutting edge GPS SiRFXTrac software. That delivers a quick satellite fix via the GPS receiver.
Improved next manoeuvre icon: The icon now clear shows the direction to be taken while incorporating distance to the manoeuvre.
2D mini-map: New mini-maps have been added on the turn-by-turn navigation screen.
Multi view options: SmartST 2005 offers an unprecedented four viewing options - 3D map view, 2D map view, next manoeuvre icon with 2D mini-map and a four next manoeuvre route summary.
Improved routing options: This now includes routing via ferries while quickest/shortest routes, preference for freeways and urban roads now have percentage preference scale.
Improved map topography: Navmans maps now contain topographical style graphics with green areas representing forest and parks.
Continuous navigation: Never leave the road again. User can now continuously navigate through Europes major road network using the base map of Europe.
The software application, major road networks of Western Europe and back-up-street level mapping for the entire U.K. region arrives on CD Rom. Users can navigate around the continent with major road network mapping (at no additional charge), to gain access to a specific European region at street level, users may purchase separately a detailed set of Western Europe maps. Once activated the street level mapping can be downloaded to the iCN510 via the PC and a USB connection. In addition to the supplied map data, other Western European regions available include Germany, France, Italy, Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg), Spain and Portugal and Nordics (Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark).
